Audiences:  University Boards, Presidents, Executive Staff, Deans/Dept. Chairs, Alumni Groups, Senior Living Developers/Operators.

This nationally recognized presentation provides an overview of the information most needed to assess the addition of a retirement community on or near a campus, including:
  • Background and history of University Retirement Communities (URCs)
  • Demand drivers, both current and future, for such communities
  • Review of existing national URCs and operational models
  • Specific benefits to the academic institution, providers, and consumers
  • Current issues in development and management of University Retirement Communities
  • 21-point rubric assessing initial strengths and weaknesses of a URC opportunity for an academic institution
  • Review of the 5-criteria model for developing a Certified University Based Retirement Community (UBRC)TM, University Linked Retirement Community (ULRC)TM, or University Affiliated Retirement Community (UARC)TM
  • Questions and Answers
In addition to the presentation, and at the request of the institution, assistance may include a campus tour to identify/review land availability, programs, and university resources applicable to URC development. May additionally include a post visit/presentation follow up report and recommendations.
